What our exhibitors say about The Moose Show......

Melanie LeBlanc (jeweller)...
"The Moose Show is well juried. It focuses on quality handmade work instead of "designed then manufactured" - like many other shows. I enjoy the beautiful setting (atrium) and I also like the intimate size of the show. It's not overwhelming. Not as much competition either....the environment is more pleasurable for both artists and patrons. It is a reasonable cost for a Christmas show and so it is not a high risk. It is well established show with a good reputation amongst the fine craft community. It is good for a CV if you want to enter the craft show circuit and good for art related retail experience. The clientele is fairly sophisticated. They want to support artists and artisans. They understand the importance of it. They're genuinely interested in handcrafted items....THAT'S MY CUSTOMER!"

Brenda Tucker & Jean Pierre Schoss - Dogbite Steel (sculpture)
"Dogbite Steel has always had good, strong sales at the Moose Show. We have been involved for over 10 years now. The show is well organized with a sophisticated market that responds to high quality work. There is an instant market from the CBC employees and visitors to draw from as well as artist mailing lists and general advertising. It is very easy to unload and set up. The venue is ground level and close to entrances. Food options are excellent! Because it's not an overly large show there are more opportunities for sales. The calibre of artists has always been high over the years. All the best."

Elisabeth Soppelsa (jeweller)....
"I really like the ambiance of the show. I like the familiarity of the space and the other artists. My clients know that I'm at the show. It's centrally located and convenient to go to. I work very hard on the relationship I have with my clients. I send handwritten invitations with a little something personal to every client. I think new exhibitors need to be creative in their approach to new clients and also they need to understand that it takes patience to build a solid and continuing clientele. Last but not least it has happened that I made a new friend during the show! Good Luck..."

Saniya Khan (textile artist)...
"The Moose Show showcases high quality art, craft and design. The CBC location makes it very accessible for vendors and buyers. and artisans should be encouraged to apply because it is a wonderful team of people that exhibit and a very savvy visitor who absolutely respects and cherishes the work shown. Showing year after year at The moose Show has given me some very committed customers and collectors and some new ones get added every year. For new people and younger artisans, the booth prices would be a great incentive to participate in such an excellent show."

Wendo Van Essen (felting & textile artist)....
"I return to The Moose Show year after year because the bottom line is I make money. Actually last year I made the most ever!... and the fees are affordable. It's one of the most affordable shows to enter during that all important Christmas shopping time. But mostly I come back for the intimacy....I much prefer a smaller show. People look at the Moose show as a high end craft show and if you show with us, you are exposing yourself to a more discerning clientelle. We have some really important artists who bring their own clients to the show. We all benefit from each other's customer base. Physically, I believe I'm in the perfect spot at the Moose Show and I won't give it up!! I get walk by traffic and I feel like I'm visible from a long way away. I see the same clients every year because I'm in the same spot in the same show they expect me to be in. More importantly for me, I have good friends at the Moose show and part of what makes it a success for me is making that connection with them again and again. There have been other shows that were once quite highly respected, but they've all gone down the path to more artists/cheaper quality. The Moose show has never lessened it's high standards and I'm sure clients know this and appreciate it."

Liz Kain (jeweller) ......

"I return to the Moose show each year, as it has consistantly been a winner for me. The audience is a sophisticated and appreciative one. I tend to sell work at all price points and have have also done several comissioned pieces for people whom I've met at the show. The venue is great. The show is well run, and the artists that participate are generally very good, so the overall look of the show is strong. I would recommend it to any artist, whether up and coming, or established."

Josette Luyckx for the ArtWear Network (wearable art artist)
"For us, returning to the Moose Show each year means returning to a well organized, juried craft show that brings together artisans and craftspeople who produce work of the highest quality. The show dates give us the opportunity to woo and sell to the business community, a very discerning clientele. The intimacy of the show allows visitors and clients to visit each exhibitor at a leisurely pace and no worries about them being able to find your booth again. Each year we can count on seeing our regular clientele, plus gain new ones. And the CBC Atrium is the perfect spot for such a show."
